The 2022 Puerto Rico season is going well despite challenges

A corn field in Puerto Rico undergoing fall armyworm trials.

Our counter season field activities in Puerto Rico are well underway. A week of warm weather and sunshine definitely helps one get through a Midwest winter! Despite Covid-19 restrictions and the resulting staffing challenges, the ICIA team has done an excellent job maintaining our nurseries. With the calendar turning to February, we will now be focusing on fall armyworm trials. We will also be making collections of larvae to establish another population of fall armyworm for laboratory assays.
